For all the early excitement in this match we've still had only two shots of any nature.

An Anthony Musaba cross into the Blackburn area causes some consternation, not least among the officials who initially signal for a corner and then, rightly, change to a goal kick.

There's got to be at least seven or eight minutes added on, if not more, there have been three or four big breaks in play.

There looks to be some sort of issue in the away end.

Play was briefly held up but we're back under way swiftly.

The home side win their first corner of the game.

It's comfortably headed away by the man on the near post.

These are worrying times. If it had been the other way round, if Blackburn had scored first and then Wednesday had equalised then we'd feel alright. When it's 1-1 and both teams are in it you do feel a bit anxious.

    Rovers playing some neat stuff.

This is a very different showing to last week's 1-0 win at Leeds where they had to survive a lot of pressure to pick up a precious three points on the counter attack.

A win today will be enough to confirm their survival, while a draw would likely be enough in all probability.

Blackburn starting to get on top in this.

They've scored 58 goals this season in the Championship, almost half through Sammie Szmodics of course.

Wednesday have only got 37 goals in their 44 games which is why their inability to hold on to leads last week and this could be so damaging.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15 mins

    15 mins

    Blackburn 1-1 Sheff Wed

Michael Ihiekwe can't carry on and Bambo Diaby is on for Wednesday at the heart of their defence.

Two goals and a substitution in the first 15 minutes of this game.

    Quiet start then...

Sammie Szmodics still had to finish that - that's what he does, week-in, week-out. He's scoring goals for fun.

It was too easy, wasn't it? I think pushing too high and it was a simple header which led to him doing what he did.

Another brief stoppage as Wednesday defender Michael Ihiekwe gets some treatment on an injury.

We're going to have quite a lot of time added on at the end of this half.

It's a heavy touch from Sammie but it's a quality touch. He sucks the goalkeeper out, he doesn't know where his goal is, he's still got a lot to do, Sammie Szmodics, but that's another great finish to lift it over him from there.

The crowd got a teeny bit quiet after the goal but this place is rocking again.

    Who else?!

What a game we have got on our hands in the Lancashire sunshine today!

Sheffield Wednesday couldn't hold on to their lead against Stoke last week and they can't do it today either.

Sammie Szmodics makes it 31 goals for the season with a cool finish beyond James Beadle with the Owls defence caught out by a ball over the top.

    Game on!

  13. That's shocking from Rovers'published at 12:39

It's absolutely shocking. The goalkeeper is caught in no man's land, comes to head clear and there's nobody there to cover. Windass is proactive to it, the goalkeeper is scrambling. It's an unbelievable finish.

That's a chip off the block, the kind of thing Dean would have done. Very clever. He's finished with aplomb.

    Dream start for Wednesday!

    MY WORD.

The away side have been right on it since the first whistle today and they take an early lead.

Rovers goalkeeper Aynsley Pears comes way out of his area to deal with a long ball over the top but his header is straight to a Wednesday player and they move the ball to Josh Windass who lobs home a beautiful first time finish from 30+ yards.

    Superb.

The Owls out of the relegation zone as it stands.

Fortunately Sammie Szmodics is alright to play on and we're back under way.

The Rovers forward trots back on as the home side thump a long throw in clear.

A sore start to the game for Blackburn's top scorer Sammie Szmodics.

The 30-goal forward takes a Wednesday clearance flush in the face and the physios are on to make sure he's ok.

    Play is held up.

    We're off and running.

Can that tremendous Owls away support help them over the line to a vitally important win as they look to climb away from the relegation zone?

The battle to avoid relegation from the Championship looks like going right to the wire.

Sheffield Wednesday have spent virtually the whole season in the bottom three but could they haul themselves out just when it matters most?

Give this post a thumbs up for the Owls can soar to safety or down for they're going to be swooping back to League One.

I'll take a little look at what we've got at half-time.
