Route[]

The NEC: Boston - Providence (named Boston Sprinter in Train Sim World 2) is a route featuring 49-mile railway between Boston and Providence, with Amtrak ACS-64 and MBTA F40PH-3. This route has the maximum speed of 150mph (with Acela, which is not included), and makes it the railway that has the highest speed limit all over North America. Without Acela, you can still reach 125mph on this route with ACS-64, which is the American route featured in Train Sim World with the highest speed. The route is included in Rush Hour Season Pass. In February 20th 2023, the route has been upgraded to the Train Sim World 3 sky and lighting feature set in addition to the signalling being redone along with the release of the Acela Express loco for the same route.

If you have Sand Patch Grade installed, the various sidings along the route will be populated with GP38-2 locomotives, as well as various freight rolling stock, but these are not drivable in Timetable Mode.

  • Marching In - In Southampton Street Yard build your ACS64 led consist to help with an increased demand for Amtrak services before heading East.
  • Foundations - Create your F40PH-3C led consist at the start of the day before heading East.
  • Cold as Ice - This service travels From Boston South Station to Stoughton and back, although worsening weather means delays are to be expected on the return journey.
  • Long Way Round - Maintenance work has meant the main lines into Boston South Station have been closed. Join the queue in this eastbound service to Boston South Station.
  • Reverse Engineering - Drive this eastbound service to Boston South Station before turning your train round and heading West.
